Keep Watch Coloring Page
Today is Parents Day. And since so much of parenting involves watching over our children — making sure they stay safe and do what they ought and have what they need and don’t get in trouble — I thought this coloring page would be fitting for the occasion.
Of course, if parenting has taught me anything, it’s that children don’t always do what we expect. But they’re pretty good about finishing what we inspect. Whether we want them to make their beds or do their homework or brush their teeth, they’re more likely to follow through when we do.
Vigilance is key.
Our Heavenly Father provides that same kind of faithful watchcare over us. He protects us and provides for us and leads us in the way we should go, but he also sees our actions and weighs our motives and knows our hearts.
And we would be wise to keep that in mind and to live accordingly.
Sometimes I surprise my kids with a pop quiz or an unscheduled room inspection. The results are telling when I do.
With regard to our Heavenly Father, we should be counting on the same sort of surprise inspection, for none of us know the hour when Christ will return, but we can be confident that He will come and, when He does, he’ll bring to light the work we’ve done in his absence.
More to Color
If you like coloring, then come back next week — I post a new coloring page every Sunday — or browse all the pages I’ve published in the past by following this link: Free Christian Coloring Pages.
Did you note the Spanish version of this coloring page? “Keep watch” for more Spanish coloring pages in the future. 🙂
In the meantime, take a look at my devotional journals. At over 200 pages a piece, they are packed with writing prompts, coloring pages, word studies, and lots and lots of Bible verses. You can read more about them here.
Or — if you’d prefer to skip the journaling exercises — check out my Scripture-based coloring books. Although these were designed specifically for grown-ups, they are good for all ages.
