Man’s Plans, God’s Guidance (Coloring Page)
History is full of stories that illustrate how man’s plans and God’s guidance work together in harmony. Columbus “discovering America” is certainly one such case. And since tomorrow is Columbus Day, I’m sharing a coloring page made especially for the occasion.
As we all know, “in fourteen hundred and ninety-two, Columbus sailed the ocean blue.” His objective was to find an alternate route to India, but of course, God had another plan for Columbus in mind.
The events that unfolded on Columbus’s famous voyage remind me of the verse in Proverbs which says, “A person may plan his way, but the Lord directs his steps.”
That’s exactly what happened with Columbus.
But notice, Columbus didn’t sit around doing nothing, waiting for God to reveal His master plan: “Columbus, I am going to send you forth to discover a New World.” Oh, no.
Columbus busied himself doing something that interested him. He pursued opportunities to follow his dreams. And God took it from there, leading and guiding and using him to accomplish His plan.
And guess what? God will guide us in the same way. We just need to step out in faith and get started.
