Happy Squirrel Appreciation Day (Free Coloring Page)
In honor of Squirrel Appreciation Day, I’m sharing this wild animal coloring page. It features Genesis 1:25:
God made the wild animals according to their kinds, the livestock according to their kinds, and all the creatures that move along the ground according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good.
I’ve had a special fondness for squirrels for as long as I can remember. One of my favorite picture books as a child told the story of a little gray squirrel named Miss Suzy.
A few years ago, our family had the privilege of raising a couple of abandoned baby squirrels. We nurtured them back to health (which meant, among other things, feeding them every 2-4 hours, around the clock). And we gave them a warm home until they were old enough to release into the wild.
We cried for a week when the time came to let them go, so attached were we to the little creatures by then. I made a video for us to remember them by.
Evidently, a lot of other people are as fond of squirrels as we are, because this little film has since become our most popular, hands down. It’s garnered nearly as many views as all our other videos put together! And not just on Squirrel Appreciation Day, but all year long.
