Five Solas Coloring Page
Since Reformation Day is just around the corner, I’m sharing this Five Solas Coloring Page today. Are you familiar with them?
The Five Solas sum up what reformers considered the essential tenets of Christianity. Salvation comes by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone according to Scripture alone to the glory of God alone.
Although I cannot cite a chapter and verse reference for these five Latin phrases, the Holy Scriptures back them up nonetheless. You’ll find supporting passages for each phrase below. And I’ve hyperlinked each verse to BibleHub, so you can read them for yourself in context.
The Five Solas of the Reformation
Sola Gratia = “Grace Alone”
Believers are saved by God’s grace alone. “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God. Not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9
Sola Fide = “Faith Alone”
Salvation comes not through works, but through faith alone. “And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.” Hebrews 11:6
Solus Christus = “Christ Alone”
Our faith must rest in Christ alone. Only Jesus has paid the penalty of our sin and redeemed us unto Himself. “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.” Acts 4:12.
Sola Scriptura = “Scripture Alone”
The Bible alone is the written Word of God. “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.” 2 Timothy 3:16-27
Soli Deo Gloria = “To the Glory of God Alone”
Christians should live for the glory of God alone. “Whether, then, you eat or drink or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.” 1 Corinthians 10:31

Hi! Thank you so much for all of these free printables! Is it possible to get this and the other coloring page, of Luther, in the color version? Some of my kids are older and not as into coloring, but I would love to use these beautiful resources to talk with them about the reformation. Thank you!
