Mighty and Blessed Coloring Page
Since Father’s Day is only a week away, I wanted to share this Mighty and Blessed coloring page today. It matches the Godly Woman coloring page I posted for Mother’s Day back in May.
This coloring page features Psalm 112:1-2.
“How blessed is the man who fears the LORD, who greatly delights in His commandments. His descendants will be mighty in the land; the generation of the upright will be blessed.”
Again, I realize not all godly men are fathers. And, sadly, not all fathers fear the LORD. But what a blessing it is when the two go hand in hand! When a man takes seriously his role as spiritual leader in their homes — rooted deeply in the Word of God, being careful to live a life of integrity, and gladly serving those whom God has placed in his care — his wife, children, and society as a whole reap untold blessings.
I am so happy to have had such a man as my own father. And I’m even more grateful to be married to such a man, so that my children can also bear witness to the blessings that come from living in accordance to God’ Word.
Father’s have been given such a heavy responsibility to model God’s love for their children and point them to Jesus. None do it perfectly. If you, like I, were blessed with a father who tried, be grateful. If he is still alive, let him know how much you appreciate him!
But maybe your earthly father failed to live up to this responsibility. Maybe he didn’t even try. Maybe he did the opposite of pointing you to Christ. If so, just know that the LORD God Almighty is willing and able to stand in the gap. He promises to be “a father to the fatherless.” (Psalm 68:5) He sees your trouble and grief and is ready to help. (Psalm 10:14)
Your earthly father may have let you down, but your Heavenly Father won’t. He will never leave or forsake you, but will provide, protect, and go before you. (Deuteronomy 31:8) You need only put your faith in Him. (John 1:12)
