Clumsy Thief Card Game Review

Clumsy Thief Card Game

We’re back with another Timberdoodle review today. This week, we tried Clumsy Thief Jr, a card game for kids that is quick, fun, and educational.

My grandkids helped me try it out

I got to spend some time at my grandkids’ house yesterday and brought Clumsy Thief Jr. to entertain them once all our chores were done. They were more than happy to try out the new game.

Simple Easy-to-Follow Instructions

The game is intended for ages 5 and up and can be played by 2-4 players (although we stretched that limit a bit on a few rounds. Instructions for play are super-simple: Each player starts with 7 cards with a goal of collecting the most fruit to win.

But fruit must be laid down in groups of ten (reinforcing addition skills). And if an opponent has a card that will add to ten with the top card on any of your fruit stacks, he can steal it.

Further, raccoons can steal fruit stacks of any size, no addition necessary. Fortunately, there are a couple of traps in the deck that can be used to steal any stacks the raccoons have taken.

Everyone starts with 7 in their hand

Clumsy Thief, Jr. is a fast paced game and loads of fun to play. You can order it as a stand-alone product or as part of Timberdoodle’s 2022 Kindergarten Curriculum Kit.

Grandkids loved it

Our family loves Timberdoodle, and we encourage you to look around their website while you’re there. We’ve been ordering from Timberdoodle for more than 30 years, the last five of which I’ve been serving on the Timberdoodle Blog Team. To read more of my reviews, follow this link.
