The Wind and Waves Coloring Page I’m sharing below references Matthew 8:23-27. You probably remember the story. Jesus was sleeping in the boat the disciples were taking across the Sea of Galilee when a fierce storm blew in.

As the boat was being swamped by the waves, the disciples cried out in despair, “Lord, save us! We are perishing!” Jesus rebuked the storm, and the sea immediately grew calm. Amazed by what they’d just witnessed, the disciples marveled, “What kind of a man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey Him?”

I love knowing Jesus wields the same kind of power today. “Through every high and stormy gale, my Anchor holds within the vale!” The account in Matthew is also referenced in another of my favorite hymns, “Be Still, My Soul.” Click play to sing along with the lyrics listed below, paying careful attention to the second verse.

Forever with the Lord
When disappointment grief
And fear are gone

When change and tears are past
All safe and blessed
We shall meet at last
