Christmas Carols for the Harmonica
In this week’s Monday Mailbag, I’m granting a reader request for more harmonica music with these seven Christmas carols for the harmonica, just in time for the holidays.
Question: Do you have any more harmonica songs?
Hi, Jennifer.
Please, give us more harmonica music! My dad had several chromatic harmonics and occasionally would play for us kids (6 of us). His favorites were “Que sera” and the “Marine Corp Hymn” Thanks for promoting the harmonica. I’ll pull mine out and one for my granddaughter today and practice the hymns you sent.

Answer: How about some Christmas carols for the harmonica?
To download seven of my favorite carols for you to play, click here: Christmas music for the harmonica
Remember, the harmonica holes are numbered #1-10. Blow air through the hole corresponding to the number in the music, and suck air through the numbers that are in parenthesis.
Included in this collection is the music for all the following Christmas carols. Enjoy!
- Angels We Have Heard on High
- Joy to the World
- Hark, the Herald Angels Sing
- Silent Night
- Away in the Manger
- I Saw Three Ships Come Sailing In
- O Come, Let Us Adore Him
The harmonicas we use are Johnson Blues King Harmonicas in the key of C. They are inexpensive, well-constructed, and have a nice tone.
My daughter Abby saw me working on this printable and asked if she could play the carols. Here she is playing “O Come, Let Us Adore Him” with only a few minutes of practice:
Incidentally, if you’re looking for a great way to focus your heart on Christ during this advent season, I’d love for you to check out my new devotional journal, Joy to the World. It will help you do exactly that.

Hi Jennifer!
Just want to give a hoop la … and whooo hooo!
When you posted earlier this year before your camping trip the harmonica hymns I commented that I’d try to learn them. Since I’m just starting from scratch, just practiced “God is so Good.”
So now this is GREAT to have Christmas carols. Last week I was working on “We wish You a Merry Christmas” and now can learn more. Very timely and much appreciated!!
Deb
PS Your posts are so endearing to me,I feel like part of your extended family. God continue to bless you and your family!
Your message brought a smile to my face, Deb! Sometimes I post things (like harmonica music) that I assume will be of little interest to anyone but me. I’m delighted to think of you playing hymns and carols on the harmonica at your house, too!
