General Science 101 (Timberdoodle Review)

General Science 101

Are you looking for an easy and engaging way to teach your middle or high school student general science? Then take a look at Westfield Studios General Science 101, available from Timberdoodle Co. Comprised of 4 DVDs plus a teacher’s guide and unit quizzes on PDF, this program is surprisingly broad in its scope.

General Science 101

Not only does General Science 101 provide a great introduction to hard sciences like Physics and Chemistry, but it also covers Astronomy, Biology, Earth Sciences (Geology, Oceanography, Meteorology). It even contains lessons on Social Sciences (including Psychology, Humanities, and Economics), plus Formal and Applied Science.

Life Science

There are 14 units in all, each lasting anywhere from 30 to 45 minutes in length. What’s more, all of these topics are taught from a Christian worldview, which our family really appreciates.

Geology

Although the program is designed for students age 15 and up, the subject matter is explained clearly enough that much younger children will enjoy listening, as well (as we’ve observed anytime the grandkids show up during schooltime).

Large Age Range

If enough of the grands drop by simultaneously, we’ve been known to drag out our projector and boom box so that everyone can see and hear the lessons.

Chemistry DVD

Do you have a student (or students) who would benefit from General Science 101. You can purchase a copy from Timberdoodle, either as a stand-alone course or as part of their 8th Grade Curriculum Kit.

While you’re on the Timberdoodle website, I’d encourage you to look around. We love everything we’ve ever ordered from this small family-owned company!
