Read by Everyone Coloring Page
My new.Read by Everyone coloring page features the words of 2 Corinthians 3:2-3. Here, Paul writes:
“You yourselves are our letter, written on our hearts, known and read by everyone. You show that you are a letter from Christ, the result of our ministry, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets f of human hearts.”
I think it is interesting that, although Paul points to the lives and reputation of the church at Corinth as fruit borne of his ministry, he acknowledges that no such evidence would be present apart from the action and work of the Holy Spirit.
This is true of parenting as well.
We have a responsibility as parents to train up our children in the fear and admonition of the LORD, but our efforts will be in vain apart from God’s abundant grace. Only He can change hearts.
We can point our children to Jesus. We can live our our faith — however imperfectly — before them. But unless the Holy Spirit draws them, unless He gives them ears to hear and eyes to see and quickens their hearts to understand and accept, they won’t.
Which is why, in addition to being faithful to do what God has called us to do in our job as parent, we must also remain on our knees, fervently praying for our children, that Christ would lavish His grace and mercy upon them, so that the letter which is their life will be bring glory and honor, not to us, but to Hm. 🙏
