Know Your Body (Timberdoodle Review)
This week we took a look the Dr. Vanessa’s Know Your Body Set we recently got through Timberdoodle. I’ve been homeschooling three of my older grandkids this year and ordered this when I thought I might be teaching their younger brother, who would be a 7th grader. (These books are included in Timberdoodle’s 2024 7th Grade Curriculum Kit).
But that plan didn’t pan out, so I’ve begun reading the books to a couple of other grandchildren. The text is simple enough that even younger kids can follow along, even though they would likely need some help on many of the written activities included in the books.
But we’re going to keep at it and see how much they can grasp. They’re smart kids and already have a good understanding of many bodily systems, as they’ve grown up with lots of family members in the medical field, and a homeschooling mother who loves science, as well.
The set includes three volumes, each with 64 pages and lots of colorful, interactive activities. There is one book about the human circulatory system, including heart and blood vessels. Another deals with the brain and nervous system. And a third covers the topic of the lungs and respiratory system.
Do you have teens who would enjoy exploring these topics? Or younger kids who would like to know their bodies better — and who love to be challenged? Then you may want to check out the Know Your Body Set for yourself (and for them).
And while you’re on the Timberdoodle website, I’d encourage you to look around. We love everything we’ve ever ordered from this small family-owned company!
