Cornerstone Coloring Page
Psalm 118:22 tells us, “The stone that the builders rejected has now become the cornerstone.” That verse, which is a prophecy pertaining to Christ, is featured in my new Cornerstone Coloring Page.
It reminds me of a story I once heard about Michelangelo. Did you know that for his massive statue of David — arguably one of the most famous and recognizable statues of all time — he used a single piece of Carrara marble that the other artists had rejected for being flawed?
Another thing I think about when I read this verse is a song called “Cornerstone” that Larnelle Harris used to sing. The lyrics go like this:
Jesus is the cornerstone
Came for sinners to atone
Though rejected by His own
He became the cornerstone
Jesus is the cornerstone
In both these stories, those doing the rejecting failed to recognize the intrinsic value of the thing rejected. Let us not be guilty of making the same mistake.
Jesus is the cornerstone. He is the only rock solid enough to build our life upon. Make sure you don’t reject Him, or else everything you build will eventually crumble.
