Painting to Gogh National Parks Kit Review
My daughter and I had such fun painting the projects in Painting to Gogh’s Glad Tidings Kit before Christmas that we wanted to share the fun with my older grandkids. So we all tackled the Painting to Gogh National Parks Kit this week.
The kit has everything you need to complete four paintings: paint, canvases, aprons, and detailed instructions.
One easel and one very nice set of three brushes is also included in the kit, which means if you want to have four students painting at once (like we did), you’ll need extra easels and brushes.
We shared brushes (since we had another set from the Glad Tidings kit) and made extra easels out of an old cardboard box using the included easel as a pattern.
That worked well. Earplugs also came in handy so that each student could listen to the online instructions for his/her painting without disturbing or distracting others.
The Painting to Gogh lessons are provided in step-by-step detail and very easy to follow. The National Parks kit had four paintings to choose from, all in bright, vibrant colors.
The projects could all be finished in a few hours work, although some of the designs required a little drying time between steps.
Be advised that some of the projects call for paint “flicking,” So you may want to protect your table top or upholstery and carpets, or choose a room with hard surfaces that are easy to clean.
Fortunately, the flicking in our case didn’t splatter too much and could be easily wiped up with a damp cloth. And the sunset designs were achieved without any spatters at all.
It’s fun to watch the paintings come together. The techniques taught are very forgiving, so that even beginners can achieve pleasant results.
