Groundhog Day Pudding Cups
Rise & Shine, Campers! It’s Groundhog Day… and these pudding cups will help your kiddos celebrate the occasion in style.
For a tasty treat that’s fun to eat, just follow these simple instructions:
Ingredients:
- 1 box instant chocolate pudding mix
- 2-3 cups of milk
- 1 pkg Nutter Butter cookies
- small pkg Reese’s Pieces
- small pkg red cinnamon candies
- 1 pkg Oreo cookies
- 1 pkg mini-marshmallows
- chocolate icing
Directions:
Mix pudding according to package directions. Pour into cups or bowls to set.
Place several Oreo cookies in a ziplock bag and pound them with a rolling pin to break them into small pieces. Crumble this cookie “dirt” on top of the pudding, then chill pudding cups in the refrigerator.
For each groundhog, cut a mini-marshmallow in half to form eyes and stick to the top half of a Nutter Butter using icing as “glue.” Dip a toothpick in icing, then stab the center of each marshmallow to form pupils.
Use a fourth of another marshmallow to form teeth, plus two brown Reese’s Pieces to make the muzzle and a cinnamon candy for the nose — all stuck in place with icing:
Our kids added yellow ears and icing hair, mustaches, and eyebrows to some of their groundhogs, but those features are optional. 🙂
Just before you are ready to serve, place one groundhog in the center of each pudding cup.
Of course, you’ll need to eat them in the dark if you don’t want these little guys to see their shadows! Happy Groundhog Day!
