Free Printable Frog Themed Activity Sheets
Next Monday is Leap Day, February 29. It only comes around once every four years, so we need to celebrate it while we can. And since my little ones won’t be so little next time it rolls around, I’m catering our family’s celebrations to them! So today, I’m sharing some free printable frog themed activity sheets I designed especially for the occasion.
First we have a matching game. Find the two frogs that are exactly alike. If you have trouble differentiating them, you can scroll to the bottom of this post for the solution 🙂 .
We’ll follow that with a game of leap frog, a discussion of what allows frogs to jump such great distances, and the following worksheet:
Then how about some tracing or cutting practice for the preschoolers? If they like, they can color these frogs — and their lily pads, too:
Next, it’s time for a simple science lesson on metamorphosis. What other creatures can you think of that undergo radical transformations during their life cycle?
Then, on to handwriting. I like for my kids to learn cursive, so one of our frog themed activity sheets is devoted to penmanship practice.
But I made a manuscript version, as well, in case your children prefer printing:
And we’ll finish up with a little arts and crafts. First a drawing lesson — these frogs look pretty realistic, don’t you think?
And then a cut-and-paste activity, but you’ll need a wooden clothespin to make this one work:
You are welcome to use any or all of these printables. As always, they’re free! You can download the entire set by clicking this link.
If you know others who would enjoy this (or any of the other free resources offered on our website), we’d love for you to share. We only ask that you send them to the original post to get their freebies, rather than forwarding or linking directly to our PDFs. Thank you!
(Oh, and for anybody who was stumped by that first activity, the frogs that are identical are #2 and #5.)
