Pledge of Allegiance to the Bible
My kids and I are involved in a weekly co-op we all love. The younger ones take classes in things like sign language and math drills and geography and life skills (where they learn to use power tools and change the oil in a car), and the older ones knock out subjects like Chemistry and World History and Logic.
The moms teach all the courses in their individual areas of expertise. In addition to teaching Algebra 2 and Paragraph & Essay Writing this semester, I also get to lead a women’s discussion group. That keeps me on my toes!
Every week during open assembly, we pledge our allegiance “to the flag of the United States of America.” But we also repeat the Pledge of Allgiance to the Bible. Have you ever heard that one? It was a favorite during Vacation Bible School back when I was little, but I hadn’t heard it in years until we joined this co-op.
Nor had it occurred to me before that my failure to teach my children the words of that pledge created a noticeable gap in their knowledge base. So, in case your kids may have missed out, as well, today I’m sharing the printable I designed to help my kids learn the Pledge of Allegiance to the Bible. And while NFL players may struggle with showing proper respect during such formalities, if you teach your kids the words to these anthems, they’ll never be at a loss of what to do when they hear them played 🙂 :
