Our Struggle Coloring Page (Free Printable)
This week’s “Scripture Sunday” coloring page reminds us that our primary struggle as Christians is not physical.
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. (Ephesians 6:12)
Our struggle, ultimately, is against a spiritual enemy — an enemy who repeatedly tries to trick us into abandoning the fight. Satan often uses physical realities to distract and defeat us. His goal is to shift our focus from things that really matter and weigh us down with trivial issues that — in the grand scheme of things — really don’t.
We need a battle plan
This passage and the verses that follow it remind us that spiritual warfare calls for a spiritual battle plan. Want to walk in victory? Set aside time every day to spend with the LORD. Read His Word. And communicate with Him through prayer.
Here again, Satan loves using the hustle and busyness of ordinary life to tug us away from spending time with the Savior. All too often, we believe the lie that taking time for personal devotions will just set us further behind. But, really, the opposite is true.
If experience has taught me anything, it is that I’m usually able to accomplish far more when I begin my day with prayer and Bible reading than when I don’t.
George Mueller observed the same phenomenon. He claimed, “Four hours of work after an hour of prayer will accomplish more than five hours of work without prayer.”
If you enjoy coloring, come back next week. I post a new coloring page almost every Sunday. Or you can browse all the pages I’ve published in the past by following this link: free printable coloring pages.
In the meantime, take a look at my devotional journals. At over 200 pages a piece, they are packed with writing prompts, coloring pages, word studies, and lots and lots of Bible verses. You can read more about them here.
Or — if you’d prefer to skip the journaling exercises — check out my Scripture-based coloring books. Although these were designed specifically for grown-ups, they are good for all ages.
Just wanted to say thank you so much for these fun coloring pages! We’re having a little women’s gathering to talk about marriage (mainly: how can we better support our husbands) — and just looking through the verses you’ve illustrated has been really encouraging. The opposition is real!
Anyways… thanks. Blessings on you and yours!
I love it, Julie! That sounds like such fun, and I’m happy to think I get to be a small part of it via my printables. I pray you all have an encouraging and uplifting time and that your marriages are strengthened as a result of the time you spend studying together!
