Cute & Clever Leaf Crafts for Kids
My children love making crafts, and I love saving money. How do you reconcile the two? By using art materials that are always in abundant supply — like the following collection of cute and clever leaf crafts for kids.
Additionally, our family recycles a lot of our trash for art projects: cardboard boxes, glass jars, tin cans, paper sacks, toilet paper tubes, etc.
Some of the projects below combine both nature crafts and recycling. Have fun crafting!
7 Clever Leaf Crafts for Kids
Fox Leaf Craft
These foxy little faces from Easy Peasy and Fun are super simple to make from maple leaves. All you need is a little paint and a pair of google eyes to complete them.
Autumn Leaf Mason Jars
Make some nifty fall lanterns by glueing pressed autumn leaves to recycled glass jars. You’ll find full directions at Spark and Chemistry.
Maple Seed Dragonflies
These delicate little dragonflies from Church Street Designs are made from maple seeds and are as stunning as they are simple. I can’t wait to make a whole swarm of them with my kids and grandkids!
Leaf Stamped Coasters
Next time you fell tree or find a fallen limb in your yard with a large enough diameter, cut a set of round disks to use in crafts like these stamp leaf coasters from Country Living.
Leaf Print Napkins
And while you’re at it, stamp a set of these leaf print napkins from www.allthingsgd.com. Aren’t they lovely?
Beautiful Botanical Butterflies
My daughter has collected butterflies for years, but I prefer this botanical variety for specimen displays. You can see more creative examples at the Spiridusii blog.
Clay Leaf Bowls
These intricate leaf bowls from Urban Comfort are made by pressing leaves into clay before firing. Wouldn’t they make a pretty jewelry tray?

Also, be sure to check out my devotional journal for nature enthusiasts, All Things Bright and Beautiful. There is so much wonder to be found in God’s creation, if only we can slow down long enough and open our eyes to appreciate that fact! That, in a nutshell, is why I created this journal — to encourage you to observe and explore the world around you and to record your thoughts and impressions, as well as any spiritual insights, into the pages of this book.
All Things Bright and Beautiful joins a growing collection of my devotional journals. There are now 12 titles in the series to choose from.
