George W. Bush Coloring Page
Today is the birthday of our 43rd US President, George W. Bush, and this coloring page is in honor of him. It features one of his excellent and insightful quotes about freedom:
Bush rightly observed, “Freedom is not our gift to the world. It is God’s gift to humanity.” At another time, he expanded on this thought, declaring, “We will not waver, we will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail. Peace and freedom will prevail.”
What the Bible Says about Freedom
The Bible has much to say about freedom, too. Here is just a small sampling of passages that deal with this topic:
- “It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.” (Galatians 5:1)
- “Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” (John 8:32)
- “So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” (John 8:36)
- “But take care that this freedom of yours does not somehow become a stumbling block to the weak.” (1 Corinthians 8:9)
- “For you were called to freedom, brothers and sisters; only do not use your freedom as an opportunity to indulge your flesh, but through love serve one another.” (Galatians 5:13)
