Christmas Word Scramble (Free Printable)

Christmas Word Scramble

Our entire family loves Christmas and parties and games — and Christmas party games. In this 12 Days of Christmas Games series, I’m sharing a dozen of our favorites:

Today’s game is an old standard with a fresh facelift. our family is proud to present (drumroll, please) “A Merry Christmas Word Scramble.”

I’ve included options for printing a full-page version of our scrambled word game or, if you’d rather conserve paper and don’t mind writing small, you can print two games per page. You’ll also want a copy of the answer key, but no fair peeking until you’ve tried to solve the puzzle yourself!

You’ll note that the first letter of each scrambled word is capitalized. It is amazing how much more difficult that one little detail makes this game. Try it yourself, and you’ll see what I mean.

Some of the selections in our Christmas Word Scramble are fairly obvious, like “Ejuss.” Others are surprisingly hard, like “Stranneom.” Which word stumped you the longest?

  4. Hello Flanders Family,
I am the activity director at a senior community. I am putting together a packet of games, puzzles, coloring sheets, trivia, and anything else I think they might enjoy as so many are afraid to come out of their apartments during these trying times. I would like to print out some of your activities to give to our seniors to help them at this time. Would you allow me to do that?
    Thank you for your consideration

    1. Certainly, Diane. We’d be happy for you to do that as long as you are giving them away (not selling them) and leave our copyright and website url in place at the bottom of the page. Thank you. And merry Christmas!

          1. Sorry about the trouble you’ve had, Judith. You should be able to open PDF files on either a Mac or PC, though I’ve heard from a couple of readers that have had a hard time opening them on their phone. I went ahead and resent the PDFs to you, along with some screen shots of the game and answer key. The screen shots won’t print in as high definition as the PDFs, but should do in a pinch.
