Silky Crayons Review

Timberdoodle sent me a set of Silky Crayons to review this summer, and my grandkids love them. We’ve been using them for months!

The colors — twenty-four in all — are bright and vibrant. They provide great coverage, and will even show up on black paper.

The crayons themselves are virtually unbreakable. They never dry out and never need to be sharpened.

Best of all, the set is plenty big enough to share and has multiple shades of red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple, so nobody is forced to wait long for the color they need.

We took our Silky Crayons camping with us last week, and they helped keep my kids, grandkids, and even a few neighbors happily occupied while their parents visited around the campfire.

And just look at that smooth coverage! A red marker would have run out of ink before finishing that job. A red map pencil would not have been nearly so bright. And a regular red crayon would have likely broken in half long before the job was done.

The only caution I would give is that the pigments adhere better to normal paper with a matte finish. They tended to rub off a little when we used them on the slick poster-board craft project above.

But that never seemed to be a problem when we were using regular copy or construction paper or card stock.
