Savor-It-Slowly Guacamole
My husband and I love Tex-Mex food — a trait we’ve passed onto all of our children. One of our little ones spurned all the puréed baby food we proffered, but would eat her weight in refried beans and guacamole!
Our savor-it-slowly guacamole is simple enough a six-year-old can make it, but the results are scrumptious. The packaged stuff you get at the store just can’t compare in taste and quality to homemade. Try it yourself and see
Ingredients:
4 large ripe avocados
2 small limes, juiced
1 small onion, minced
1 medium tomato, diced
2 tsp. cilantro
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. minced garlic
pinch of red pepper flakes (to taste)
Instructions for making Savor-It-Slowly Guacamole
Halve, seed, and cube avocados. Place in mixing bowl.
Drizzle lime juice over all, then add onions, salt, and spices.
Stir together with spoon until consistently mixed.
Fold in the tomatoes, then enjoy your homemade guacamole with crisp tortilla chips or on warm corn tortillas. Remember: Savor it slowly! Olé!
